Ok, EFY was pretty UH-MAY-ZING!!! I absolutely LOVED it! I'm so happy I decided to go anyways :) I met cool new people and had the opportunity to strengthen the band with friends I already had :) Oh my goodness, it was a GREAT week! Short summary of the days and what happened and what I thought of it :)
Day one:
...WAY stressed out! :p I still wasn't COMPLETELY done packing and well...I was late :p They called me on the way there, thankful that they did, they could've left without me... But there I arrived...late... :p And then the bus wouldn't start! (we gathered at Antwerp and a bus drove us on to the camp-site) So all boys out of the bus to push it to get it started :p After a not too long ride we got there and got welcomed by crazy counselors rocking out by doing the craziest dance you'll ever see... :p haha So anyways, that was pretty funny XD. We met our group and company and I must say, our company was the BEST!! I love you guys ♥ (oh hey, these hearts work on blogger...) Anyways... :p We had to come up with a name through a scripture and we decided to let our company have the name of the brother of Jared....the Mahonri Moriancumrs!
After diner we had a fun family home evening with the best EFY 'parents' EVER!! :) and had fun (yet weird) games after that :) Fun first day I tell ya :)
Day two:
Oh man...you can't imagine how awfull it is to share 4 showers with...I don't even know how many girls...I got up at 5.45 and even at that horribly early hour it was getting in line for the showers..I heard girls got up around 5.10 and when I got up they were already brushing their hair... CRAZY! Anyways, I was able to get showered every day... with a lot of patience.. :p It wasn't so bad, just not ideal... :p And then there was morningdevotional and gospel-study :) I loved those, you got the time to have personal scripture study with help from the booklet we got :) And morning devotionals were fun, we got to know each other from the group better :)
And then, oh my goodness...4 hours of lessons! Haha, it sounds bad, but it was pretty fun :) We had way fun teachers who brought their lessons on a very cool, fun way :) I got a lot out of those :) Then there were auditions for the talent-show. And Elke was BEGGING me to join...but I was too much of a coward I guess... Then there was diner and a DANCE! At first I'm like...why have a dance while you didn't really get to know people very much...? But actually, this dance was even better then the one later in the week :) I had tons of fun :) Then silent time (journal writing and stuff...), devotional and end of day !
Day three:
Morningdevotional, breakfast, gospel study,... And another 4 hours of lessons (with lunch in between of course) but again, it didn't bother me very much, I was WAY tired so I almost fell asleep in one of them..Made me miss the plot of the whole lesson by waking up my friend...grrr.. Anyways...more try-outs for the talentshow... this time, Elke got me to the point where I did try out...We did Popular from wicked, both of us and had another girls playing the shy girl who we would make-over...But we didn't get in since they didn't think the message was very much in the EFY-spirit...which I can imagine, but I was still sad...they said there was nothing wrong with our singing, but that the message wasn't very good...oh well...I would've been much too nervous anyways, because singing in front of 180 people...? Thanks, but no thanks....
We (me and Elke) didn't have very much free time since we were in the choir for the music-programme, and we only had 3 days to rehearse, so all the free time went into singing... :p
Then there was diner and after that company-time! We made a SWEET banner and had this AWESOME cheer, I mean,,, it was LEGIT! You can find it right...here! ...........Okay...blogger wont let me insert links... Anyways, I'll put vids in a next post I guess... And then....drum-roll please...PIZZA NIGHT!! We all only got one slice of pizza, but it was yummy yummy yummy!
And then silent time...or for me...crying time...I was a little bummed that evening...I didn't feel to good, felt like I didn't belong in the group I was in...Maybe the not-making-it-to-the-talent-show had something to do with it..I don't know...I was just very self-concious that evening... But I had a wonderful counselor and my best friend by my side to comfort me, so I felt a little better :)
Day 4:
The usual morning routine, waiting in line for the showers (wait, I think this day I actually had free entrence to the shower! No waiting I mean...) And then breakfast, gospel study....And then there was YM/YW activities, and that was pretty awesome too, we had a fun discussion on various subjects :) And then there was lunch and preperation for the talent show and stuff. OH MY GOSH WE HAVE GREAT TALENT AMONGST US!! I enjoyed the talent-show soo much :) There was a lot of variety, we had singing, street-dance, ballet, instrumental...And oh my goodness, there was this one guy that was also in my company called Melvin and he did "Canon in D" on his electric guitare :) I LOVE ELECTRIC GUITARE! I seriously want to learn to play that instrument!! And I wasn't so bummed anymore that I wasn't able to sing with Elke, because Femke sang this song "Ave Maria" by Beyonce and oh my goodness...She had a fanclub after singing that, seriously! And then there was free time (well...for the not-singing-in-the-choir-people amongst us...) And then the Music-evening! I enjoyed that soo much, people could really feel the spirit and I was happy to be a part of the music evening-slideshow :) And after that, we had a testimony meeting and...WOW, it was the best testimony meeting I've ever attended! Everybody was crying because they were touched by the spirit, and all my self-conciousness got washed away by the words of others :) Sooo many people said that they loved every-one of us, and then this tough-guy walks up with tear-filled eyes and told us how much he loved us and how he would take a bullet for every-one of us. And I felt almost embarressed that I had the feeling that I didn't belong just the night before... I bore my testimony also, about my experience with the EFY medly :) After the meeting was over, everybody started to give each-other a hug and thanked them for sharing their testimony and everybody was still crying. It was a really special experience, really fantastic :)
After that we had a devotional, a perfect ending to a perfect and wonderful day :)
Day 5:
The usual morning routine again :) With a slide-show this time about "taking it home", a slide show about taking what you learned, home :) We had a For the strength of youth activity, where we could choose classes that each had one value in the for the strength of youth booklet :) That was pretty cool too :) Then lunch and service project! It was pretty fun, we made blankets for the poor people, it's always nice to do something for someone else :) And then there was time to share email-adresses and take pictures and stuff...Elke, Melissa and I spent our time 'well' playing Rock-Paper-Scissors X-TREME... :p haha Then there was the other dance, and as I said, not so good as the one on day 2 :p But still pretty fun :) A little short, but nice enough :p And after that we had the slide-show with pictures of all the days :) It was nice to see what a wonderful week we had :). And then the usual devotional and silent-time :) And talking about the best counserlor EVER!! She came into our room and put something on my bed, it was a German bible :) She heard I read the Book of Mormon in German, and she said I could have this German bible, so I said, but my mom has one already! :) But she said that it was just sitting there at her home and that I should have it so that I would have one for my own :) Isn't that the sweetest thing??? I thought it was pretty awesome :)
Day 6:
The end of a fantastic week :( Cleaning up our room...cleaning up the site...Taking LOTS of pictures of friends :) 'Twas good :) I was happy to go home, and sleep in a good bed...But I was sad to leave such a great week behind :(
When I was in the car, I showed my new German bible to my mom, and she looked at it and discovered that it is an edition from 1925! And it's sooo cute :) It's in a case and the cover has cute flowers on it :) And it has this genuin old smell to it :)
So yeah, that's EFY for ya :) When I was home I was talking to my counselor on IM to thank her again for the bible :) She said that at first she didn't even know why she took it with her. It was just sitting at here home, and had the feeling to take it with her :) And she told me that now she knows that it's where it needs to be :)
For everybody that's doubting to go to EFY...Doubt no longer, just GO! It' s amazing :)

Ok Ok, I know it's been a while
Ok Ok I know that the period between 31 december 2009 and now isn't just 'a while' but... :p I didn't come round to it.
Ok let's see what happened... Oh yes! I'm GRADUATED!! Ah yes, sweet graduation... I'm gonna miss high-school though, it was still so care-free and stuff... I already looked for the school i'll be going to next schoolyear... I'm propably be doing studies to become a midwife :) It's gonna be WAY hard though, but...I'm guessing i'll propably regret never trying... :p
I watched Eclipse today! And some parts were great! And others were just...a little disturbing. But over-all, propably the best Twilight-saga movie yet :) ... If I would've have the choice between Jacob and Edward...DEFINATLY JACOB... But I'm not Bella, and frankly, I don't want either one of them :) I have my sight set on somebody else... :)
Sooooo, more things that have happened...
I got my seminary diploma! :) And you may or may not have known that I've always envied the people from America because when they graduate high-school, they get to wear this cool cloak and cap...Well....Maybe I don't envie them so much anymore :p Haha, for seminarie-graduation, they brought these cloaks and caps for the graduees (is that what you call them? :p). And BOY! Am I glad that we don't need to wear those for highschool graduation! That thing is SO hot! Goodness I thought I was going to melt! And then the cap wouldn't stay on my head too well, and I had to use these clips to make it stay on... So I bet I looked very....not so attractive XD haha!
Aaaaaaanywho.... (Franklin from 'my wife and kids'...get it?....ok maybe not...) I'm tired and I'm going to bed now :p Hope I don't dream about twilight because of this twilight-day (we watched the firts 2 movies at home and then the 3rd in the movie theatres...TWILIGHT OVERDOSE!!
Haha,
Charly

100!
Post number 100 :p Haha
Exams are done! Finally! And I did good :) Except for dutch and history... But I'm pretty sure I even passed math :p
Last saturday I went to a Christmas-dance in Apeldoorn, Holland. (FYI: That's a 2.5 hours drive from where I live :p And then we still need to drive 2.5 hours back...) But I promised Elke that I would come, so that's exactly what I did :) I was wearing a bright-red dress that came to my knee and I'm absolutely in love with the dress :) And I'm using it again on friday, so I'm saying that's 60 euro's well spent. (60 euro's for a dress like that isn't expensive at all, you can compare it to a promdress, and 75 dollars for a promdress isn't expensive at all :p)
Here's pictures :p
Ugg, blogger is being stupid and the pictures aren't where I wanted them to be but anyways... :p haha
And I'm an auntie again!! Little Ezra was born on the 12th of december 2009 , is 54cm tall and weighs a good 4.220 kilo's (that's about 8 pounds :p). He's beautifull and I'm super-proud to be his auntie :)
So yeah, that's what's been going on in my life :p

What's been going on in my life...
Yesterday I needed to play hostess at the elderly week (oh joy...). Pretty much all we had to do was to say good afternoon (and I didn't even succeed in that because I kept on saying goodmorning... :p) And hand out the program of that day and free food coupons... Woopdeedoo! There went my saturday. :p And all this time you have to keep your face into a perfect smile and be happy while actually you don't want anything more but to get out of there :p
Almost exams! AAARGHH I'm really stressing out... Sooo much to do and soooo little time :p
Today I went the good-bye service of (almost) Elder Boom. And when I promised myself I wasn't going to cry... I lied :p Well I actually wasn't expecting to cry since I rarely ever do... But today it just was inevitable :p Since we (young men and young women) sang "we'll bring the world his thruth" And Elder Boom's little sister started to sing by herself and then his other sister started crying so I couldn't sing anymore... :p And then as closing hymn we sang "God be with you till we meet again" (I know, enough said :p)
But anyways, it was a really nice service and I wish Martijn (it's just weird to say Elder Boom) the very best of luck. But I'm sure he'll do fine :p Jawohl! ;)
For the rest my life's been pretty much the same. I actually found a school where I can take afterschool musical lessons! Woot! Good thing I have a lovely neighbour who is an actress (just in Belgium television series) and told me about the school :) (No, she's not going to pull some strings, we are honest people :p) But I'm really excited about it, it's something I've been wanting to do for a while now...
I should propably be going to bed... But I'm actually that tired that I don't feel like wanting to sleep anymore (you never had that..? No..? Ok whatever :p)
Sleep thight and don't let the bedbugs bite!
